Inside Sources: WPA Vital Records Inventories

Get inventories of birth, marriage and death records for these states.

During the 1930s and '40s, the Work Projects Administration's Historical Records Survey put thousands of people to work inventorying and indexing old documents — including state and local birth, marriage and death records. Their efforts resulted in published vital-records inventories such as Guide to Public Vital Statistics Records in Florida and other similarly named tomes. The following states' inventories are available in print and on microfilm from the Family History Library <www.familysearch.org>:
