Old records

Here are some easy genealogy tips for making your old, faded genealogy records (such as the 1860 census) easier to read:

1. Enlarge the record
2. Try reading it on other sites that contain the same record
3. Print it out and trace over the letters
4. Crowd-source it to see if others can help
5. Work with the old record in photo editing software to increase the contrast, darken it, sharpen it, etc.
