Brigham Young University is offering a new course in genealogy that’s free, online and available to anyone with a computer and Internet access. “Finding Your Ancestors” is a tutorial developed for non-members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. BYU also offers a tutorial specifically for church members, “Providing Temple Ordinances for Your Ancestors.” Both are user-friendly, easy to follow and available in text and Flash format. The tutorials were created “to help people interested in family history overcome any fears about technology and make sense of the resources available to them,” says BYU president Merrill Bateman.
