A. An excellent, free resource for Ontario birth and death records is The Olive Tree Genealogy: Canada Births, Deaths and Marriages Exchange. You can search this site for records alphabetically or view registrations by year.
FamilySearch.org also has many free databases for Canadian provinces, including indexes to Ontario births and deaths. You’ll want to track down the source of the information you find in the index. You can borrow microfilmed Ontario birth records through 1914, marriages through 1929 and deaths through 1939 from the Archives of Ontario. See the archives’ website for details.
