The National Genealogical Society (NGS) <www.ngsgenealogy.org> recently moved its headquarters. The board of directors opted to sell the group’s former offices — located in a historic Arlington, Va., building known as Glebe House — to reduce expenses after learning in late 2003 that NGS investments had dropped from $500,000 to $50,000. Several board members subsequently resigned; an audit uncovered no evidence of fraud.

NGS’ new address is 3108 Columbia Pike, Suite 300, Arlington, VA 22204. The telephone numbers, (703) 525-0050 and (800) 473-0060, haven’t changed. In addition to settling into new digs, the society plans to hire new staff, including an executive director.
