For many of our ancestors, the only biographies ever written about them were their obituaries. These newspaper clippings often provide dates and places of birth and death, relatives’ names, occupations and religious affiliations. Instead of borrowing microfilmed newspapers on interlibrary loan, you now can access many obituaries online—these are some of the largest databases and indexes.
