It took six months of testing, but the National Library of Scotland now offers the Ask a Librarian service. To take advantage of the library’s helpful new online feature, go to <www.nls.uk/info/readingrooms/askalibrarian.html> and complete the form. Librarians will answer your e-mail or forward your query to a library that houses the proper resources to help you. It may take time for you to receive a response, but you can track your question’s progress on the Check your Questions and Answers page, which requires you to create a password.
