Nervous about planning a trip to the Family History Library all by yourself? Consider going with a group. The benefits of a group trip include camaraderie, pre-trip assistance, classes, group travel and hotel rates and group library orientation. Many genealogical societies and individuals lead group research trips. Some offer pre-trip information, one-on-one library assistance from group leaders and other consultants, on-site classes and group get-togethers. Others are less structured, with a designated leader who’s also doing personal research. Your local genealogical society may sponsor such trips, but provide no research assistance. Inquire about services so you find a group that fits your needs.
