In January, MyFamily.com announced that it had surpassed 1.5 million subscribers, representing a 50 percent year-over-year increase. One of the first companies to offer paid access to Internet databases, MyFamily.com owns the two biggest genealogy-data subscription sites, Ancestry.com <Ancestry.com > and Genealogy.com <www.genealogy.com>, plus the free grassroots RootsWeb network <www.rootsweb.com>.
